**Norbert Dupuis reports
he is getting lots of birdfeeder action in his Memramcook yard. He photographed
a red-breasted nuthatch doing its upside-down routine and commented that
the blue jays are numerous, with the portion that migrates south for the
winter not yet showing any signs of doing so.
**Lisa Morris recently
noted very large, noticeable fresh shavings from a hardworking beaver
bringing down a large tree on the footpath at Mill Creek, Riverview, NB.
**Jane LeBlanc had a good
yard bird day on Sunday. Among others, she had a male red-bellied woodpecker,
red-breasted nuthatch, golden-crowned kinglet, a flyover by a sharp-shinned
hawk, and a number of American robins.
(Editor’s note: It is of
note that Jane had golden-crowned kinglets coming to suet in her St. Martin's
yard all last winter. It will be interesting to note if some residents to the
area do the same this winter.)
