**Norbert Dupuis again shares two special photographic moments with his Memramcook yard birds: a male Downy Woodpecker and a male Northern Cardinal.

(Editor’s note: note the two black spots on the white side tail feather on the Downy that is not present on the Hairy Woodpecker.)

**David and Anita Cannon put up their bird feeder station a week ago, and have had 10 different species come by so far.

One difference this year was adding a feeder that has a bit of a landing on it, and they have found the larger birds really enjoy that. Attached is a photo of the new feeder with Evening Grosbeaks partaking, and Blue Jays and Mourning Doves below it so no droppings are wasted. The third photo is one of their older feeders with a White-Breasted Nuthatch on it. That cling-type feeder appeals to the smaller birds - including both species of nuthatches, American Goldfinch, and Black-capped Chickadee. The Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers enjoy the suet feeders.

(Editor’s note: it is good to have readers submit photos of the different styles of feeders they find most attractive to their patrons and what species prefer certain feeders as well as menu choices the different species find most attractive.)
