** The prize for Doreen Rossiter was a BROWN THRASHER [Moqueur roux] to her Alma feeder yard on Thursday.  She has had them before and found them skittish, but this one seemed very bold and not concerned by nearby activity.  Doreen had a male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK [Cardinal à poitrine rose] last week that moved on, but a pair arrived on Wednesday that seemed inseparable, seeming always together.  Warblers are also moving in around her property, most noticeably NORTHERN PARULA [Paruline à collier], YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS [Paruline à croupion jaune], YELLOW WARBLERS [Paruline jaune] and BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLERS [Paruline noir et blanc].

** Connie Colpitts advises that the male SCARLET TANAGER [Tangara écarlate] moved to the area of civic # 127 Mullins Rd. on Thursday, feeding at the back of the house and also in the Maples and Pines in front of the house.  So it was still in the same general area.

** John Filliter captured a nice photo of a male and female BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD [Vacher à tête brune] together.  The conservatively dressed female is so very different from her male counterpart, her identity sometimes fools us.

** Aldo Dorio got a photo of a BRANT [Bernache cravant] at Hay Island Nature Park on Thursday.  At one point some years ago, this was a major staging area for Brant.  I understand one of the things that changed that was an eelgrass blight.

** Clarence Cormier's new arrivals at his Grand-Digue site on Thursday were a VEERY [Grive fauve] to a wet wooded area that always seems to attract that species, three NASHVILLE WARBLERS [Paruline à joues grises] that went between Pussy-willow blooms and a Tamarack tree consistently, a flock of 10+ RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS [Roitelet à couronne rubis] arrived and, as many have commented, Clarence is really noting the noticeable increased number of WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS [Bruant à gorge blanche], with 20 to 30 at least along his driveway and ditched area.

** Louise Nichols and Anne Marsch were on the Crawley Farm Rd. on Thursday morning and noted what appeared to be YELLOW-SPOTTED SALAMANDER [Salamandre maculée] egg masses.  A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW [Bruant à gorge blanche] was building a nest approximately two feet off the path on the ground, and a RED FOX [Renard roux] was briefly seen running on the trail.
