** Janet MacDonald had a male SCARLET TANAGER [Tangara écarlate] come to
her feeder yard on Saturday afternoon for black oil sunflower seed. Janet lives
on Salisbury Road, near the Toys for Big Boys location.
** Richard Blacquiere shares a documentary photo of a LITTLE BLUE HERON
[Aigrette bleue] that he and Nev Garrity located in the St. George marsh on
Saturday. It is white mottled with darker feathers that suggest a first spring
immature bird.
** Brian Stone now has two groundhogs (WOODCHUCK [Marmotte commune]) that
have occupied his Moncton backyard. Also, Brian is one of several reporting that
they still have PINE SISKINS [Tarin des pins]. His photo of one seems very
bright, so presumably is a male.
** Lori King got an excellent photo of a male AMERICAN GOLDFINCH
[Chardonneret jaune] feeding a female, very likely part of the pair-bonding
ritual.
** Audrey Goguen at 16 Northview Avenue in Moncton has had a male
BALTIMORE ORIOLE [Oriole de Baltimore] arrive. It has chosen a suet feeder
visit.
