** Ghislain Cormier shares documentary photos of the BALTIMORE ORIOLE
[Oriole de Baltimore] that has been a regular, feeding on ENGLISH IVY berries,
in their Memramcook yard. They have not seen it since Tuesday, so it may have
moved on, but the Cormiers say that it sometimes has gone 2 or 3 days without
being seen over its 3 week visit.
** Brian Stone and I visited Yolande and Eudor LeBlanc’s feeder yard in
Memramcook to see the warbler that is coming to peanut butter smeared on bark.
It is definitely a very colourful NORTHERN PARULA [Paruline à collier]. It came
to the feeding site regularly, sometimes joined by a BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE
[Mésange à tête noire] or DOWNY WOODPECKER [Pic mineur]. A RED-BELLIED
WOODPECKER [Pic à ventre roux] comes to the same peanut butter patch, but it did
not visit the feeder while we were there, although we did see it fly over. This
Red-bellied is a female and makes a short vocalization that they especially hear
just before it comes to feed.
