** The BALTIMORE ORIOLE [Oriole de Baltimore] continued to be present
around the area of Jules Cormier’s place in Memramcook on Tuesday. Louise
Nichols found it and it cooperated for nice photos as it enjoyed its cache of
English Ivy berries. Louise saw it from the boardwalk on the marsh adjacent
Jules’ home, and Jules reports that it was around his place on Wednesday
afternoon as well.
**Julie Pellerin and Richard Leger started their personal winter list on
Tuesday, December 1st, by tallying 48 species in the Shediac to Memramcook
area, to include some of the specialties at Yolanda LeBlanc’s yard. Julie also
added a BELTED KINGFISHER [Martin-pêcheur d’Amérique] she saw from her Cap Brulé
yard on Wednesday.
** We have not seen PURPLE FINCH [Roselin pourpré] for some time around our
Moncton feeder yard however a male and female arrived on Monday. It is
interesting to watch PURPLE FINCH and HOUSE FINCH [Roselin familier] when they
arrive together and note the obvious differences of these often confused FINCH
species.
