**Georges Brun was out on the Bis Marsh area in Chartersville on Friday, to see a surprising group of approximately 50 GREAT BLUE HERONS [Grand Héron]. It was an awesome lineup. Georges comments that the most that he has seen there before was 19. It’s been a good year for the Great Blue Herons, or this is a great foraging spot.

**Dave Christie comments that shorebird numbers were lower on Friday, approximately 25,000, but Dave did see his first AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER [Pluvier bronzé] of the season among the group. Two PEREGRINE FALCONS [Faucon pèlerin]were on the hunt, and a COMMON LOON [Plongeon huard] was in the water – not sure whether this was just a drop-by from a nearby lake, or migration is beginning.

**Aldo Dorio got a nice photo of a SOLITARY SANDPIPER [Chevalier solitaire] at Tabusintac on Friday, to add to the shorebird lineup. Note the dappled mantle and the very distinct eye-ring. Aldo also got a photo of a GRAY CATBIRD [Moqueur chat] that nicely shows the chestnut undertail covert and the black crown, two of its signature identification features.

**A Nature Moncton field trip is set for Monday morning, August 28th, to visit the Taylor Road near Salisbury, led by Dave Miller, who knows it so well. The write-up on this field trip is attached.
