** It’s always a treat for birders to see the change of the guard when some birds leave us for their southerly climes while other birds choose New Brunswick for their winter vacations.  The RED-THROATED LOONS [Plongeon catmarin] are arriving on schedule.  Aldo Dorio photographed one near the Neguac wharf on Saturday.  Looking closely one can see a few remnants of reddish flecks on the throat from breeding plumage.

** And an early heads up:  the Nature Moncton November meeting will be taking place this Tuesday night, November 21st, when Jim Wilson will be visiting to share his experience in watching the addition of the TURKEY VULTURE [Urubu à tête rouge] as a resident of New Brunswick with all the details in Monday and Tuesday’s editions.  Also the load of Black-oil Sunflower seed will be arriving to be picked up by those who reserved bags, so arrive early for that pick-up, and bring any miscellaneous items that you’ve collected for the show-and-tell table to be set up.  As well, put any photos you have to share on a flash drive to show during the second half of the meeting.
