**  Now and into winter  at wetlands in wooded areas and edges of ponds or rivers it's a great time to put up Wood Duck boxes. Proper Wood Duck boxes are a big job to build properly. Lois Budd can get several Wood Duck boxes that were made to Ducks Unlimited specifications and will donate them to folks who will put them up. Lois will bring them to the Nature Moncton meeting tonight and some will be on the "show and tell" table at the front along with guise books. If not able to get to tonight's meeting, and would like a box, email Lois at  loisethelbudd@hotmail.com

** The Nature Moncton November meeting is taking place tonight, Tuesday November 21, at 7:00 pm at the Mapleton Park Rotary Lodge across from Cabela's with special guest speaker Jim Wilson who will give a presentation on the Turkey Vulture in New Brunswick. The write up is attached below.

Nature Moncton Presentation.
November 21st, 2017 at 7pm
Location: Mapleton Park Lodge, off Cabela Dr.
Living on the Edge: The Life of the Turkey Vulture.
A presentation by Jim Wilson

Much maligned and misunderstood, vultures usually get a bad rap from almost everyone. But that’s because we don’t understand them and we judge them by their appearance and by what and how they eat. In reality, they’re very interesting birds, passive and highly intelligent and possessing some ingenious strategies to deal with the uncertainty of not knowing when or where their next meal is coming from. This presentation will almost certainly change your opinion. Given by Jim Wilson, one of NB’s most knowledgeable birders and a great speaker, this talk is sure to be outstanding. But add to that the fact that Jim has played a leading role in discovering this species’ first proven nesting site in the province and also that Turkey Vultures started to be seen here more regularly about two decades ago very close to his home, and we should be in for a very entertaining evening with Jim and the vultures.

** Mike Dickinson will be arriving with a large load of black oil sunflower seeds so be there as soon as you can after 6:00 pm as 100 bags have been reserved and make sure you get your reserved bag.

** Also bring along any items of interest for the "show and tell" table as well as any photos you might like to share with the group on a flash drive or photo chip.
