**Peter Gadd as reported on Wednesday did have the MISTLE THRUSH briefly until a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK appeared. Peter reports that it has been seen coming to a mountain ash tree opposite the current civic number 5120  McMillan Drive.  He comments to drive up Manny Dr., take a right on Troy Ave., then a left at the end of that street. The mountain ash is easily seen in a quiet neighbourhood and is a dead end street.  It did return to the Manny Dr. location for approximately 15 minutes at 11am on Wednesday but it is appearing to use both locations. It was visiting both locations today, Thursday.

**The GRASSHOPPER SPARROW continued to be present during the day at Caissie Cape wharf on Wednesday. Gary Dupuis got a nice photo of it in good light at 2pm.

**Jules and Guislain Cormier spotted an EASTERN BLUEBIRD at civic #419 Rue Pres d'en Haut in Memramcook on Wednesday. The eastern bluebird is a hearty bird and never goes far south in migration so interesting to note at least one is still here in December.

**Aldo Dorio spotted a late staying PIED-BILLED GREBE in the Tabusintac River on Wednesday and got a photo.

**We don't often get GLAUCOUS GULL photos to compare them to the much more commonly encountered ICELAND GULL in this area. Alain Clavette got a photo of a glaucous gull in flight at the waste management site on Moncton Christmas Bird Count day December 16. It appears to be a first winter plumaged Bird. The glaucous gull has a black bill tip only in its first and second winter. It is hard to see eye colour clearly but it does appear dark whereas a second winter bird would be showing some yellow.
Alain also got a PEREGRINE FALCON at the same site and Norm and Gilles Belliveau got one in Dieppe near the same time slot, to suggest the possibility the pair that nested in Moncton are still present.
