the nature line has been very quiet the past few days with bad weather and Christmas however with that now past we can expect action to start again.
And taking the opportunity to add a few photos of the Grey Squirrel summer nest very high in a tall deciduous tree in Miramichi. The Grey Squirrel is not near as common in the Moncton-Miramichi area is in some areas of New Brunswick where large deciduous trees are common. The summer nests are not easily spotted in the foliage of summer but surely do stand out in winter.

Also at my own feeder yard, action was brisk with the storm but only with swelling of expected species, no new surprise ones. The feeders and ground millet was dripping with American Tree Sparrows and Mourning Doves accompanied by one lone Song Sparrow and one lone Dark-eyed Junco, a species we don't often get at our urban feeder yard.

The numbers of Black-capped chickadee, House Finch, Blue Jays, American Goldfinch, and Downy and Hairy woodpeckers numbers were near the same as before the storm. A Sharp-shinned Hawk cruises through daily, so far unsuccessful
