** Dale Savoie on Ryan Street in Moncton got a documentary photo of a Common Crow [Corneille d'Amérique]with white wing linings  by her home, travelling with other crows. This condition is described in the first edition of Sibley, page 360  with comment ‘rare but regular’. Some what of a coincidence, Phil  Riebel and I saw a very similar crow west of Baie du Vin last Sunday and as reported on a recent edition of the Blog spot with photos of that bird as well.
** Ron Steeves shares photos of a very common roadside and field plant in an advanced bloom at the moment – Wild Parsnip. It grows abundantly in New Brunswick. It has the sharp smell of parsnip when cutting in to the leaves and stems but the sap of it is toxic and can cause skin irritations and sensetivities. Apparently the root is not toxic. It is an invasive plant from Eurasia and thought to have been brought over by settlers for its edible root.
