** Gordon Rattray had lots of fall patrons
visit his Weldon yard on Saturday to include CHIPPING SPARROW [Bruant
familier], WHITE-THROATED SPARROW
[Bruant à gorge blanche], SONG SPARROW [Bruant
chanteur], YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER [Paruline
à croupion jaune], and he
also had visits this past week from a WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH [Sittelle
à poitrine blanche], BROWN CREEPER [Grimpereau
brun] and RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH
[Sittelle à poitrine rousse]. A very pleasant yard diversity.
** David Cannon reported yesterday that
the new bridge has been installed and opened to the public at the Irishtown
Nature Park. This is the loop that
crosses the reservoir. David’s photo did
not load on the BlogSpot yesterday, so hopefully does today.
** Aldo Dorio was still seeing more
lingering shorebirds at Hay Island on Saturday.
He photographed a juvenile BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER [Pluvier
argenté], , KILLDEER [Pluvier kildir], and DUNLIN.
