** Some PURPLE FINCHES [Roselin
pourpré] did stay around certain feeder yards all winter but most moved
southerly, but not far. It’s now time for the advance guard to start moving
north. Jane Leblanc was visited by a handsome male to her St. Martins yard on
Tuesday in a bit of a snow flurry.
** Yolande Leblanc was pleased to have
a BARRED OWL [Chouette rayée] visit her yard on Sunday to make it a new yard
bird, however little did she suspect that it would be visiting 3 days in a row
as it was there again on Monday and Tuesday. One has to wonder if this bird has
more than food on mind and is possibly establishing a territory in that area.
** There are a few webinars coming up
that I assume some have registered for but I am adding a few below. The
“Wildlife Photo Basics” is happening at 4:00 pm today, with the notice below:
A left click on the title should take
you to description and registration if you wish to participate.
March 10 - Wildlife Photography Basics (Webinar)
March 11 - Webinar: Managing species at risk with forest management plans
The first “Miscou Island” webinar happened
last night and I assume it will be out as a recorded version soon. A second Miscou
webinar is happening tomorrow night, Thursday. I am hoping that clicking on
these sites above will take you to the site to register if you wish.
Another webinar on tonight, Tuesday
night at 7:00 Atlantic Time, on “Invasive Species and Forest Pests” is attached
below for anyone who may wish to join this presentation.

There seems to be a lot of great
presentations on Zoom since Covid-19 has taken over that makes for a pleasant
hour of hearing about subjects of interest.
