**As announced yesterday, a Nature
Moncton field trip is on today visiting wharves along the coast. A contact
number for anyone who wants to join during the day or is late in getting away
and wants to join the group, is 289-439-3600 to find out
where the group is at the moment and join in.
Scroll back to yesterday’s edition for
complete details of the day.
**Georges Brun sends an unconfirmed
report about the Steller’s Sea
Eagle on Ward Road in Cocagne. No doubt more to come tomorrow!
**John Massey has
noticed that when the crows are not about, his Barred Owl yard patrons just
sit in the sun and watch him going about his chores. This scenario has happened
several times. They also perch in trees in the yard at night even though his yard
is lit up at night. John has never seen mice or voles outside anymore either!
Scott
Makepeace has donated Barred Owl nest boxes to Nature Moncton which
arrived on Wednesday. John promptly erected two of these boxes with the photos
attached.
Scott advised
it was a good idea to erect two boxes in the same area as in his experience, it
seemed more likely one would be taken by a pair of Barred Owls with two boxes
in proximity.
