**Verica LeBlanc visited Hay Island on Thursday to be very impressed with the excellent work to restore the storm-damaged boardwalk there.

She also noted several young-of-the-year Tree Swallows enjoying the boardwalk as a perch and a young-of-the-year Great Blue Heron in the marsh area.

 

**Nelson Poirier was in the New Horton area recently and, as always, was a bit surprised at all the stops that must be made to take a closer look at an unknown or not often seen plant in a wild setting.

He shares photographs of Queen of the Meadow, Opium Poppy, and Garden Speedwell. A fourth uncertainty is still being worked on.

These are all garden escapees but surely add at a lot of colour to a wild landscape.

 

**Gordon Rattray and Nelson Poirier attended a New Brunswick Botany Club outing in Grand Falls on July 15.

As it is a quiet day today with photo submissions, the last part of the edition today is selected photographs from that day. The plant photos with photographer credit embedded in the photo are all those of Gordon Rattray.

The Grand Falls escarpment is a special part of New Brunswick!
