**A friend of Cathy Simon
shared an early morning trail cam capture of a barred owl about to
catch its breakfast near the Moncton Airport.
(Editor’s note: The
snowshoe hare would normally be considered large prey for a barred owl;
however, the owl captured in the photo would appear not to be thinking that way!)
**Richard Blacquiere was able to obtain the sighting history of the ring-billed gull observed by Georges Brun, with photographs, in yesterday’s edition (repeated today), and the record below shows it visited
Moncton in 2021 and 2025. It is 5 +years old and was banded on 2018-05-19 Age:
Adult
Location: Île
Deslauriers, PQ
