Leaders:
Barbara Smith & Christine Lever
You
are invited to a movie night tonight, January 8, 2026, beginning at 7 p.m. This event
will be by Zoom only.
Together,
we’ll watch the acclaimed documentary "My Garden of a Thousand Bees"
and then Barbara and Christine will lead a discussion afterwards. This film
follows wildlife filmmaker Martin Dohrn, who, while locked down during the
pandemic, turned his lens on the surprising and diverse world of over 60
species of wild bees living in his own urban garden.

**Due to the
ravens' harassment, John Inman’s red-tailed hawk decided to eat its meat
meal in the security of its own dedicated table.
The red-bellied woodpecker quickly put the run to the hairy woodpecker away from the suet.
The blackbirds (rusty blackbirds and red-winged blackbirds) went high in a tree to avoid the resident sharp-shinned hawk.
**Yet more evening grosbeaks giving urban surprises!
Lynda Leclerc had a surprising visit from over 40 evening grosbeaks on Wednesday to her Moncton yard. There were many more still up in the surrounding trees. It had been over 20 years since she had a flock this size visit her feeders.
**Great
news! The Nature Moncton Activities Committee has already received enough interest
for the pelagic tour to Grand Manan — so it’s officially going ahead! Thank you
for the quick and enthusiastic response. The Activities committee expects to
confirm the tour date sometime in February, and we’re already looking forward
to what promises to be a really fun day on the water. Stay tuned!
