Another warbler to suet. Mac Wilmot had a black and white
warbler come to a suet block to feed on Tuesday, the first time he has ever had
the species do that.
Lots of nice reports of White-crowned Sparrows dropping by
for refueling on their way north. Wilson Hare had a pair drop by his Miramichi
yard on Monday.
Spring migrating flocks of Blue Jays are moving in. John
Inman had a flock of 40 arrive to his to 225 Mary’s point Road yard on Monday
briefly, then headed off to the east. He had smaller group visit a day last
week.
Janet Cormier shares a photo of Red Maple blossoms which are coming out so
rapidly at the moment ahead of the leaves. Janet also got a photo of a male
Rose-breasted Grosbeak that has returned to her yard.

Park near Neguac on Monday including a pair of Northern Pintails and Greater
Scaup.
Audrey Goguen who continued to have a flock of Bohemian
Waxwings coming to her cut up apple cache until recently comments they have
finally all departed except for one lone bird as of Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Dave Christie visited the Calhoun Marsh and the
Eastern most section of the Germantown Marsh Ducks Unlimited impoundments. He
estimated approximately 100 swallows foraging above the water noting a blend of
Tree Swallows, Barn Swallows, and Bank Swallows. Other heard only birds were
Common Loon, Pied-billed Grebe, American Bittern, and Least Sandpiper. There
were several species of waterfowl there and numerous Swamp Sparrows declaring
territories.
