** One of the few LARK SPARROWS in NB at the moment is remaining a regular patron to the feeder yard of Mark MacAulay and his neighbour Mike and Sharon Letourneau at 37 & 43 respectively Meredith Dr. in Sussex Corner. Mark first saw it at his feeder yard on December 6, 2015 and says recently it seems to be seen more at his neighbours, the Letourneau's.  For anyone seeking an audience with this bird at the Letourneau's at 43 Meredith Dr., stand inside the door of their large shed to get a good view of the back deck where the feeders are. A heads up call to the Letourneau's at 433-3032 would be appreciated. Mark's photos of this sparrow on two different dates are attached.
** Lead poisoning in BALD EAGLES from consumption of remnants from entrails of hunted animals with lead shot is an issue getting a great deal of attention in the US. Things seem to be slow getting similarity mobilized in Canada, possibly because of supply problems with non-lead ammunition and public awareness of the problem. I'm attaching a link which may bring folks to speed a bit on this issue for a more local perspective.
** There have been few photos of REDPOLLS at feeders this season so far but Aldo Dorio did get two at a feeder in Tabusintac on Monday.
** Jamie Burris had two sub-adult BALD EAGLES interacting as they flew over his Riverview home on Monday morning. Late in the day a MERLIN arrived to Jamie's yard with MOURNING DOVES on mind.  He noted it jumping around hunting in the spruce trees in his yard.
** Brian Stone is still in Halifax and was able to photograph some ducks in the Northwest Arm area on Monday that we see at the moment on our NB coast with the exception of the RUDDY DUCK we've heard little of this winter so far in NB.  The photos include a BLACK GUILLEMOT in its winter plumage, male and female RED BREASTED MERGANSERS, GOLDENEYE and a RAVEN separating the shell of a mussel with its effective bill tool and feet.
