** The audience who attended the Ducks Unlimited presentation at the last Nature Moncton meeting will be interested to hear Adam Campbell has advised he is already looking into an interactive publicly-accessible managed lands map of Ducks Unlimited impoundments, and they also plan to incorporate viewing berms in their new projects.  Adam comments Nature Moncton’s feedback was much appreciated.
** Louise Richard comments that she had seen no RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRDS [Colibri à gorge rubies] at their Acadieville cabin for 3 days, but did see a female plumaged Ruby-Throated Hummingbird on September 20 in St Stephen at a feeder, and then saw 2 in Bar Harbor, Maine, foraging in flower beds on September 22.  Louise also noted a larger spider at their Acadieville cabin on Saturday which appears to be a MARBLED ORB-WEAVER.  Two views are attached.

** Jack Perry is noting the abundance of ROSE HIPS in fruit at the moment.  This would seem like a good food source for berry connoisseur critters.  I don’t seem to see them being taken very frequently, but they must be.  Some mammals really become fruitatarians this time of year as well as birds.

** The highly acclaimed film "The Messenger" which deals with the decline of bird populations will be shown at the Vogue Theatre in Sackville on October 2 at 2 pm.  It is free and open to the public.  The Vogue Theatre is at 9 Bridge Street in Sackville.  Thanks to Eileen Pike for the heads up, and Kerry-Lee Morris Cormier for getting show times.

** Brian Stone revisited the Hampton Lagoon area on Monday in better weather to see a lot of ducks assembled there many of which, at a distance, got hard to identify with the variety of plumages at this time of year.  He did pick out WOOD DUCKS [Canard branchu]GREEN-WINGED TEAL [Sarcelle d’hiver]NORTHERN SHOVELERS [Canard souchet], and AMERICAN WIGEON [Canard d’Amérique] along with approximately a dozen TURKEY VULTURES [Urubu à tote rouge], the juvenile bird still there with the group.
