**  Louise Richard reports that the RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRDS [Colibri à gorge rubis] around their Acadieville cabin feeders are now down to one lone female-plumaged bird, which is to be expected to happen in early September as migration south takes place for this species. However, it’s always good to leave one feeder up, in service until the end of October for stragglers and the potential of a rarity coming through. CICADAS were still vocalizing in the warmth of Sunday and EBONY JEWELWING [] damselflies were on the wing. A SPRING PEEPER [Rainette crucifère] was noted and caterpillars that appeared to be SAWFLY larvae. A BRACELET CORT MUSHROOM was among the many mushrooms that were popping up, a RED-BACKED SALAMANDER [Salamandre rayée], and more COMMON MERGANSERS [Grand Harle] on the river than they had seen all summer.

**  To correct a mis-labelled photo from yesterday, the SEA-LAVENDER plants were labelled Beach Heather. The correctly labelled photo is re-attached today.

**  Jamie Burris got an interesting sequence of photos to show a RED-PORED BOLETE. The bolete actually has yellow internal flesh but when cut or bruised, it turns dark blue almost instantly when exposed to air. The second photo shows that nicely. Some red pored boletes are not edible boletes, as some contain muscarine.
A surprising scenario unfolded for Jamie on Sunday, when his wife Karen stopped to pick him up at the marsh. She was not aware that a male NORTHERN HARRIER [Busard Saint-Martin] was hunting approximately 40 feet from her. Jamie photographed it all, as it took prey, appearing to be a frog. Then, a juvenile Harrier suddenly appeared on the scene, wanting to share the booty, a surprise for all involved that was caught in photos.

**  Aldo Dorio got a nice photo of a Pelecinid Wasp (Pelecinus sp.)on Sunday. The photo is close up, which makes it look very large, and it is indeed quite a large wasp. It lays its eggs on June Beetle larvae and is not harmful to humans. Note the very long ovipositor.
