**  Louise Nichols made a quick pass along the High Marsh Road, on the Tantramar Marsh, on Sunday and found it still very raptor productive, noting 5 RED-TAILED HAWKS [Buse à queue rousse], 4 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS [Buse pattue], 4 NORTHERN HARRIERS [Busard Saint-Martin], and 1 BALD EAGLE [Pygargue à tête blanche]. A Red-tailed Hawk posed on a rock for a photo, and Louise also got a photo of a distant, hovering Rough-legged Hawk, commenting that she was amazed how long it hovered in one spot watching for a potential meal.

On Sunday evening, Louise and Glen heard a GREAT HORNED OWL [Grand-duc d'Amérique] and another “kwauk” sound close to their Sackville home. The other sound that seemed to be responding, they assumed was another Great Horned Owl. Louise found a sound that matched at the attached URL https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Great_Horned_Owl/sounds
in the third recording on the Cornell page. Establishing or re-affirming territories is probably very much under way, and likely what they heard.

**  Ray Gauvin came across a group of BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS [Jaseur boréal] foraging on what appears to be flowering crabapple fruits on the Shediac Road, near Gilbert’s Corner, on Sunday. They haven’t seemed to move in numbers into Moncton, as yet, where there is lots of clinging fruit waiting for them.

**  Brian and Annette Stone came across a beaver pond, where they are visiting in Perth, Ontario, where the BEAVER [Castor] were focussing on cedar trees, a tree we don’t see them using frequently. Brian also got photos of one of the evergreen CLUBMOSSES [Lycopode] shining green against a brown winter background.
