Louise Nichols took a slow trip down the High Marsh Rd on the Tantramar marsh to
Point de Bute and driving back towards Sackville on Wednesday. Her raptor count
included 5 BALD
EAGLES [Pygargue à tête blanche], 4 NORTHERN
HARRIERS [Busard Saint-Martin], 9 RED-TAILED
HAWKS [Buse à queue rousse] and 12 ROUGH-LEGGED
HAWKS [Buse pattue] - with 5 unidentified raptors. Louise took a few
photos that included an especially cooperative photo of a Northern Harrier that
does not often happen. Note that two of the Rough-Legged Hawk photos show the
feathering right down to the toes.

Ray Gauvin’s very bright PINE
WARBLER [Paruline des pins] made a return visit to his Parlee Beach
feeder on Wednesday. Ray also has a WHITE-BREASTED
NUTHATCH [Sittelle à poitrine blanche] that appears irregularly, and when
it does, it is usually "grab and run”. Ray comments it appears the other small
birds at the feeder seem to leave quickly when it arrives.
