** As outlined in yesterday’s edition, the evening session on using iNaturalist  with Sean Blaney will be taking place this evening Wednesday, November 7th at 7 o'clock at the Sobey's Community Room in Riverview. Participants are encouraged to bring photos on a flash drive for identification.

**Kathy Popma shares some interesting NORTHERN CARDINAL [Cardinal rouge]activity in their Sackville yard. They had a pair of NORTHERN CARDINAL [Cardinal rouge] at their feeder yard last winter. This summer they hosted two young of the year, watching them develop, with one being a male , the other a female. In July, they both appeared in female plumage with black bills. The male slowly developed a reddish tinge on the breast and it went from there. As of latter October, they are both showing the red bill. The male has yet to develop the blazing red of its male parent but is a work in progress. The adult male bird has not been seen all summer. The two siblings hang out together however suspect that will change as maturity develops and they seek out separate territories. Kathy's attached photos nicely show the fall progress to maturity for both genders.

It surely is Northern Cardinal day! Lois Budd has had a bright adult male arrive to her near Salisbury feeder yard to enjoy the millet sprays Lois has found so attractive to several species.

The pair of adults we had appear at out Moncton feeder yard a few days ago continue to be present but the female is very coy and resisting good photo ops.

**Stella LeBlanc is having an AMERICAN GOLDFINCH [Chardonneret jaune] visiting their Buctouche feeder yard with a very obvious clean white spot on the crown. This may be a partial albino with an area completely void of pigment however sometimes scarred damaged areas can become white as well. Either way, it will be a bird easily kept track of!
