**Sharon Seely in Petitcodiac
has had two interesting bird species as patrons to her feeders all winter. A
NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD [Moqueur polyglotte] is a daily regular coming mainly to
suet and sometimes black oil sunflower seed. A male RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER [Pic
à ventre roux] is also an irregular, regular. It pops into a suet block at her
place and a neighbour’s yard. Two great birds to have as regular patrons.
Sharon sends some documentary cell phone photos of her NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD
[Moqueur polyglotte].
**Mac Wilmot is still getting an
occasional visit of a female RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER [Pic à ventre roux], that
has obviously been over wintering in Mac's neighbourhood. It has been there
since late October. I have not seen my male RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER [Pic à
ventre roux] in over two weeks, suspecting it is off checking the singles bars.
I wish I could tell it that Lower Coverdale is really only several wing flaps
away.
