**While Barb Curlew was visiting her neighbour, Pat Latimer-Martin, at her home at Dennis Beach on Friday morning, Pat and Linda Mantel observed a NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL [Petite Nyctale] perched against the house, quite oblivious to them. Always a treat to have a chance to observe this little leprechaun of the owls as well. Barb also was able to get a photo.

**Jane LeBlanc continues to monitor BALD EAGLE [Pygargue à tête blanche] activity along the St. Martins Beach. It was the first time this year they saw an eagle on the nest. There’s approximately 300 metres of marsh between where one can safely walk and the nest, but the white head and tail of the eagle were clearly visible. Jane comments it’s actually hard to see the nest unless the eagle is in it. It is Bald Eagle nesting time, and the nest occupancy reports should be coming in soon. Jane also saw a pair of SNOW BUNTINGS [Plectrophane des neiges] on the beach that must be getting brighter now, going into breeding plumage.
