** A very short edition today.
** As announced yesterday the annual
Birdfeeder Tour will turn into a virtual event this year to give a chance for
individuals to share their feeder yard experiences, methods, birds, etc. The
deadline to get any photos in to Roger Leblanc is February 27th to
put together a PowerPoint presentation with approximately 10 minute
presentations from participants as their turn comes up to speak. However it is
important for Roger to know approximately how many will be sharing so please
let Roger know at parus@nb.sympatico.ca if you have something to offer. We
have a lot to share and learn from each other so get a short presentation ready
right now and let Roger know that it is coming so he can plan the evening on
March 02nd. Let’s not let Covid-19 stop our annual tradition.
** As probably many other naturalists
do, we have 2 indoor cats that very much enjoy the yard bird feeding action as
well. As soon as the sunroom doors open in the morning there is a mad dash to
get to their birdwatching seats. For some reason COMMON REDPOLLS [Sizerin
flammé] will occasionally be exploring the narrow rail on the window ledges.
One did that on Friday morning right next to Jerry’s nose and it was very
amusing to watch them nose to beak a window pane thickness apart, both with
very different thoughts in mind!
