**Sue and Steve Berube had a bright Pine Warbler visit their Riverview yard on January 4. It did not go to the feeders but foraged around the base of a Maple tree. It was very tame - or perhaps a little disoriented. It appeared again just before dark. Late on Saturday they saw it again, just before dark, at the suet feeder with a friend.
One is
special but 2 is a bonanza!
** Dale and
Helen Halfpenny had a Yellow-rumped Warbler visit their Stilesville birdfeeder
yard on Sunday. It was very active and chumming with Dark-eyed Juncos. It
appeared to be feeding on white millet. It was a first visit for a warbler to
the Halfpenny’s feeder yard.
**The
invasive House Sparrow is a species we don’t tend to see in New Brunswick as
often as years gone by. This is no doubt a good thing for native birds like
Tree Swallows and Eastern Bluebirds.
They are
very much still present in some of the shrubbery in downtown Moncton as in the
photos that Anna Tucker submits.
It would appear like Grey Squirrels are becoming more common within Moncton.
