**The presentation Laura Tranquilla gave to
Nature Moncton on Tuesday evening April 19 on the Leaches Storm-Petrel
is now available at the link below for those who may have missed it or may want
to listen to again:
**Brian Stone drove
to Upham on Thursday and stopped at a few spots to photograph wildlife along
the way. At McCully/Penobsquis he saw a group of 6 Bald Eagles circling high
in the distance and tried to get some images of a pair of them interacting. He
got a poor photo of an Eastern Phoebe and a Belted Kingfisher
hiding in the branches beside the stream there. In the flooded field a male and
female Wood Duck came close enough for a picture. Further out in the
field, beyond camera range, many more Wood Ducks were present. On an
overhead wire a brilliant Tree Swallow kept a close eye on things. At
Bloomfield Brian spent some time photographing an Osprey diving for
lunch but being unsuccessful.
In the Hampton lagoons Brian got photos of one of the 3 male Ruddy
Ducks that were present. Also photographed there were an American
Goldfinch, male and female Bufflehead Ducks, male and female Scaup, male and female Common Goldeneye Ducks, a male Ruby-crowned
Kinglet, and a Muskrat. On the way to his sister's place Brian
photographed a Piebald White-tailed Deer with several other regular deer
at the same place in the same field where he got one quite a while ago. At
Brian's sister's place, the frequently visiting Turkey made an appearance
in her yard to pose for some portraits.
