**The Green-tailed Towhee continued his presence at the Tantramar Wetland Centre on Tuesday. Wendy Sullivan and Wendy Randell paid a visit to find it at the gazebo feeding area. They also spotted a Palm Warbler and were able to capture a quick photo.
The Wendy duo then made round to the Sackville Water Retention Pond to find the Great Egret still very much present and feeding.
**A Wood Duck continues to be a daily visitor as a tag along with the Mallard Duck troupe as well as 2 Black Ducks to Fred and Lynn Dube’s driveway menu of cracked corn at their Lower Coverdale home. A lone female Evening Grosbeak is visiting on an almost daily basis as well.
Lynn and Fred made their third trip to Sackville with the Green-tailed Towhee in mind and were rewarded with close-up views of this very special visitor. They were also lucky to see the very bright Palm Warbler that was briefly mistaken for the towhee.
The Dube's looked for the Great Egret but had no success and didn't see any open water so maybe it has moved on. (Editor’s note: the Dube’s may have missed the small open water area or it may have frozen over between the timing of the Wendy duo visit and their visit).
**Nelson Poirier was about to go out and buy the seed bell available at Dollarama when a good Samaritan kindly delivered one to the door! It was immediately placed in the feeder area and within minutes was visited by American Tree Sparrows, Black-capped Chickadees, and Dark-eyed Juncos which was a bit surprising as usually a new feeder takes a few days to be accepted. (Editor’s note: the Samaritan reported visiting 5 Dollarama stores to find only 2 seed bells, so they are either very popular or in short supply)
