Jane LeBlanc and Judith Ives from St. Martins, as well as a keen birder
friend from Ontario, traveled to the lagoon in Petitcodiac to see the Pink-footed
Goose. Luckily, other birders with scopes were there to point it out to
them.
They
stopped at the Hampton lagoon on the way home and saw Northern Pintails,
Green-winged Teals, a male Gadwall, as well as other ducks.
(Editor’s
note: Jane’s photo of the Gadwall nicely shows the chestnut-edged scapulars
that we see in flight as a chestnut patch in front of the white speculum.)
**Deer
hunting season is on and the White-tailed Deer have their plan set out to stay camouflaged and near human dwellings!
Lisa Morris
took photographs of some animals doing just that on Sunday.
