**It’s that time of year when tracks and scat take on new interest to naturalists.

Louise and Glen Nichols found what appeared to be scat recently on a trail going back into the woods near their Aulac home.  Each section was between an inch to two inches long.

‘Who dun it’ continues to be a mystery after a few consultations so Louise’s photo is added today to ask for comments.

There were no tracks associated with this observation to make one wonder if it came from above (regurgitation?) The strange colour only adds to the mystery.

Any thoughts on identification would be appreciated.

** On Monday Brian Stone drove to the Irving Eco Center outside Bouctouche to try and relocate the rare White-eyed Vireo spotted there by Robert Shortall the day before. With the generous help of birder Marc LeBlanc Brian managed to get two decent glimpses of the vireo but it was too shy and active to pose for a photo that day. Brian managed only a few pictures of a group of Double-crested Cormorants that flew overhead and some of the large waves that came along with the stormy weather at the St. Thomas wharf.

On Tuesday afternoon Brian was down at the Moncton Library and he took the opportunity to photograph two of the Peregrine Falcons that have been reported to be still present around the nest box on top of the Assumption Building.
