**John Inman reports the Double-crested Cormorants and gulls have been joined by Common Mergansers to feed on the apparent run of fish in the Shepody River at the moment.

Shannon Inman watched them for a time and the fish she was able to see appeared larger than Smelt so very likely Gaspereau, and some eels were in the smorgasbord as well.

** In many areas, White-tailed Deer are becoming habituated to human presence.

Lisa Morris reports 4 White-tailed Deer sauntered out in front of her car on a side road in Kent Co. She stopped and rolled down her window to ‘chat’. The deer were very disinterested and not at all concerned about humans. They continued to forage without looking up. Lisa comments it appeared as though their winter coats were shedding (although humans could have used them in Saturday’s cool temperatures!)

**I am adding a photo from Norbert Dupuis of a pair of Northern Cardinals and a duo of White-throated Sparrows that got bumped from the first edition mailed out yesterday.

They seemed a bit huddled for the cool day which appeared to have been the case with most naturalists who must have gone into temporary hibernation for the day as indicated by the few reports received!!
