** Jane and Ed LeBlanc were swimming in Henry Lake, near St. Martins on Friday, and noticed many dragonflies, including the striking Calico Pennant Dragonfly

On Saturday they participated in the village-wide yard sale and set up under a flowering Greenspire Linden tree. Jane first noticed butterflies, including a Monarch butterfly and a Red Admiral butterfly, which must have been nectoring on the flowers. She then noticed warblers catching bugs in the tree, including an American Redstart and a Yellow Warbler.

**The saltmarsh area adjacent St. John Street in Pointe-du-Chene is now being given well-deserved attention as an important wetland for birds and the many other species of wildlife that use saltmarsh as habitat. This site has recently been put under the care of Ducks Unlimited by the Anglican Parish that owns it.

Alain Clavette gave a presentation at the site on Saturday to highlight the importance of the site to local residents and anyone willing to join. Alain pointed out some of the shorebirds and other wildlife present and the importance of preserving and enhancing the site.

Shorebirds pointed out were Least Sandpiper, Semipalmated Sandpiper, and Willet. A hunting Merlin kept shorebirds on the alert.
