Fairchild captured a pleasing photo of a bumblebee looking very serious
about its mission with the filled pollen sac.

had another Looper Moth in the moth trap on the morning of October 1,
2024. There are several species in NB; the group (Looper) is named after the
caterpillars which lack several 'legs' on the body and thus walk with the body
thrown into a dorsal loop. In the UK they are known as Silver Ys after the
silver mark on the wings. As most of the species have two large tufts of scales
just behind the head they could have been named Plume Moths (after the Roman
helmet with its erect plume); however, this name refers to another group of
moths.
