**Jane LeBlanc found a hermit thrush pausing just long enough to get photographed on her St. Martins property on Saturday.

Yesterday, while leading a group of friends through her property, Jane saw a winter wren, but it flew off and couldn't be relocated (she hears it all the time, but this was her first sighting of it).

**The northern catalpa is a non-native tree that produces spectacular blooms at this time of year.

Nelson Poirier has one growing in the centre of his lawn at his Miramichi camp and it is now in full bloom.

This tree has a bit of a Nature Moncton story behind it. A member brought a pod of a tree she had noticed in Moncton and was wondering about the identity (approximately 30 years ago). Nelson placed a few seeds from the pod into a pot of soil, which produced small seedlings that were then taken outside. During a house move, one sapling was also moved to the Miramichi camp yard. It is now over 15 feet tall and blooming beautifully. And yes, its name is Janet, after the one who provided that small seed!
