** Elaine Gallant spotted a HARLEQUIN
DUCK [Arlequin plongeur] close to the Caissie Cape Wharf on Monday.
Elaine also comments a MERLIN
[Faucon émerillon] paid a visit to her Parlee Beach feeder yard on
Sundaay.
** Bob Betts is hosting a lively bird feeder yard at his Grand
Digue location. He is has one bright PINE
WARBLER [Paruline des pins] that arrived 4 days ago to enjoy peanut
butter and suet, 2 WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW [Bruant à gorge blanche], a male and female
RED-BREASTED
NUTHATCH [Sittelle à poi trine rousse], 20 AMERICAN
GOLDFINCH [Chardonneret jaune], 8 BLACK-CAPPED
CHICKADEE [Mésange à tête noire], 22 MOURNING
DOVE [Tourterelle triste], 8 BLUE
JAY [Geai bleu], 4 HAIRY
WOODPECKER [Pic chevelu] and 2 DOWNY
WOODPECKER [Pic mineur], 1 AMERICAN
ROBIN [Merle d’Amérique], and a compliment of EUROPEAN
STARLING [Étourneau sansonnet) have found the buffet.
David Miller was able to get to St. Martins in time on Tuesday
to see the Northern Lapwing that was discovered there at a campground at the end
of Ocean Wave Road and got a great photo to share.
** Anne Vautour advises that Canadian Bee Keeping Convention
will be held in Moncton January 28 to 31, 2015. An attachment on it is with
this transcribed message, and no doubt Anne will provide information about talks
or sessions. Naturalists may be interested in attending as the event draws
near.
