**Georges Brun got a photo of the PEREGRINE FALCON [Faucon pèlerin] nest box atop Assumption Place on Friday. It is a very zoomed-in photo but it does appear like two white nestlings are in the box, an adult bird on top of the box, and another adult was perched on the big “A” logo.

**Aldo Dorio got a nice photo of a DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT [Cormoran à aigrettes] catching and downing a nice-sized Flounder [Plie] on Friday morning. I suspect a meal that size will give a full tummy for the day.

**Heads up on the Tuesday night, June 16th Nature Moncton meeting: The guests will be Paul and Ann Vautour to speak on Bees [Abeilles] and beekeeping, to include the amazing social life of the Honey Bee [Abeille mellifère] and the impact honey has made on history. No doubt other members of our wild Bee community will be mentioned, and the part that they play. Paul and Ann are active members of the beekeeping community in New Brunswick, and very knowledgeable about their charges and their fascinating biology. Paul and Ann are wonderful speakers and will have a lot of information to share, and have been known to bring sweet surprises to their presentations. The meeting will take place at Rotary Park Lodge, across from Cabela’s, starting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 16th.

**Brian Stone got photos of an ARCTIC SKIPPER [Échiquier] on Thursday at Mapleton Park, as well as what Gilles Belliveau suggests is a teneral male HAGEN'S BLUET Damselfly [Agrion de Hagen], based on the thickness of the black shoulder stripe, the medium-sized eyespots, and what he can see of the terminal appendages suggests male.

**Brian and I paid a visit to the Sackville area on Friday. We visited the Eddy Marsh Ducks Unlimited impoundment first. It was very windy there, so we headed over to White Birch Ducks Unlimited impoundment, which seemed more protected and very lively. SONG SPARROWS [Bruant chanteur] were putting on an awesome singing display. Lots of variety of Ducks [Canards]; a lone BLACK SWALLOWTAIL Butterfly [Papillon du céleri] was flying. We watched a pair of CANADA GEESE [Bernache du Canada] slip under a surface layer of DUCKWEED [Merde de grenouille], seemingly thinking they were invisible to us, staying completely still, even at our close approach. We’ve never seen Geese do this before. Their heads were above the duckweed level, with obvious eyes on us. A small bog was spotted where we found lots of bog botany, however, several JUTTA ARCTIC Butterflies [Nordique des tourbières] were a surprise. A Sparrow [Bruant] flushed from between my legs while I was photographing something else, to reveal a nest buried in the Sphagnum [Sphaigne] and Lichens [Lichen] with four nestlings in it. A quick photo was clicked before exiting. It is a good fit for a LINCOLN'S SPARROW [Bruant de Lincoln] nest, and I feel that was the owner, although she flushed so suddenly that no visual identification was possible. Bluet Damselflies [Demoiselles Enallagma] were in flight by the hundreds. One photographed is one of several similar ones difficult to differentiate, but some features suggest a BOREAL BLUET [Agrion boréal] as perto Gilles Belliveau. An immature DOT-TAILED WHITEFACE [Leucorrhine mouchetée] was photographed. It is immature, as the all light yellow on the body will fade away and leave one bright yellow square on S7. All of these would be very difficult to identify without the patient detailed review of Gilles Belliveau. There will be more photo activity from this visit tomorrow, as Brian did not get his photos opened for today’s use.
