**  A GLOSSY IBIS [Ibis falcinelle] visited the Sackville Waterfowl Park about 3 weeks ago for a pleasant stay. Either the same one or another was back on Saturday. Jeanette and Roger Gaudet got great observations of it not far from the information centre there.
**  Linda Leclerc took a photograph of an EYE-SPOTTED LADY BEETLE (Coccinelle ocellee
) outside her Moncton home on Saturday. This is one of our native lady beetles that we don’t often see.
**  John Filliter and Clevie Wall visited the Atlantic Wildlife Institute on Friday. John took photos of a SNOWY OWL [Harfang des neiges], BALD EAGLE [Pygargue à tête blanche] and BOBCAT [Lynx roux] being rehabilitated there.
**  Clarence Cormier had a surprise visitor in his Grande-Digue yard on Saturday, an adult male PINE GROSBEAK [Durbec des sapins]. We don’t often see this bird in the area at this time of year. Clarence also still has his ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS [Cardinal à poitrine rose], an immature male and an adult male, with CEDAR WAXWINGS [Jaseur d’Amérique], a variety of warblers and other regulars.
Saturday seemed to bring on the butterflies in his yard, noting RED ADMIRAL [Vulcain], CANADIAN TIGER SWALLOWTAIL [Papillon tigré du Canada], a blue one, possibly a SILVERY BLUE [Bleu argenté], and an orange one that was either a MONARCH [Monarque] or a VICEROY [Vice-roi]. [Transcriber’s note: First Tiger Swallowtails (2) of the season also noted at Mary's Point on Saturday — DSC]
**  Aldo Dorio photographed a RED ADMIRAL [Vulcain] butterfly at Hay Island Nature Park on Saturday. It seems like many species of butterflies are on the wing at the moment.
**  Brian Stone got some nice photos from our visit to the White Birch Ducks Unlimited impoundment on Friday. Included are a JUTTA ARCTIC [Nordique des tourbières] butterfly, a singing SWAMP SPARROW [Bruant des marais], male BOBOLINK [Goglu des prés], BLUET [Agrion] damselflies mating, and BAKE-APPLE [Ronce petit-mûrier]. I was surprised at the amount of Bake-apple at the smallish bog we visited. A return when they are ripe could be rewarding.
