**    Gordon Rattray got a great photo of a BROWN CREEPER [Grimpereau brun] in his Weldon yard on Sunday. It shows the plumage and posture of this special bird, using its tail as a prop and exploring the rough bark crevices of a tree, where lots of insects could hide out and its curved bill could extract them.

**   Brian Coyle continues to get lots of action from his trail camera with COYOTES [Coyote]. Check Brian’s photos at the at attached link and note the cars going past in the background.

**   Marguerite Winsor had an interesting RING-NECKED PHEASANT [Faisan de Colchide] scenario on Friday. One of their group of pheasants, a female, flew up into a tree to get a feed of sunflower chips. She must have suspected that booty was stashed in the small house feeder.

**   Fred and Lynn Dubé made a birding round of Albert County, across Caledonia Mountain to Riverside-Albert, Mary’s Point and back home, on Sunday. There were not a lot of birds about, perhaps due to the weather but they did see birds around feeders. They saw a nice assortment at John Inman’s on Mary’s Point Road, including a RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER [Pic à ventre roux], 3 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS [Quiscale rouilleux] and 25-30 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS [Bruant hudsonien]. John told them that a probable GYRFALCON [Faucon gerfaut] was around but they did not see it.

**   It was a pleasant surprise to have a male NORTHERN FLICKER [Pic flamboyant] arrive at my peanut feeder on Sunday and feed for some time.  It’s great to have a chance to see birds like this up close and note the massive beak and striking plumage, even though it did not flash that brilliant yellow undercarriage for the camera.
