** The BALD EAGLES [Pygargue à tête blanche] are in pair mode at the moment, in preparation for spring housekeeping. Yvette Richard photographed a pair hunting in tandem at Cocagne Bridge, a second pair that is often seen close to the west-bound ramp of Highway 2 in Lakeburn and a third pair enjoying lunch together at the Buctouche Dune. The female of a Bald Eagle pair is usually notably larger than the male so take note who is Mrs. and Mr. of the pairs Yvette photographed. Also an immature bird was hanging out with its buddies entering Buctouche. Note the significant amount of yellow on the bill of this immature to suggest it will probably reach maturity in next moult.

** All thanks to Fred Richards, Gordon Rattray and Brian Stone for the time they spent preparing to deliver a great ‘Get-to-know-your-Camera’ workshop on Saturday. They did an awesome job of viewing the wide variety of cameras available today, yet with so many common features. All very intent participants got lots of take-home hints. A few photos are attached without one of the main presenters, Brian Stone, who as expected was behind the camera getting the group photos. We all love Mother Nature’s community and capturing memories of meeting them.
