** The April meeting of Nature Moncton, on April 14th, when Natural Resources Minister Mike Holland was going to give a presentation on New Brunswick’s Protected Natural Areas has been cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 scenario. Also possibly most are aware but Fundy National Park is also closed to visitors at the moment.

** Gordon Rattray made an outing to Gray Brook Pond on Wednesday. He tallied a pair of HOODED MERGANSERS [Harle couronné], 11 AMERICAN BLACK DUCKS [Canard noir], 1 lone MALLARD DUCK [Canard colvert] drake, 1 pair of AMERICAN WIGEONS [Canard d'Amérique] and a pair of PINE SISKINS [Tarin des pins]. Over at the Hillsborough lagoon there was not much open water yet, however there were 6 RING-NECKED DUCKS [Fuligule à collier] only one of which was female so they are assumedly some new arrivals.

** Doreen Rossiter reports that she saw 2 TURKEY VULTURES [Urubu à tête rouge] flying over Alma on Wednesday. Her husband Willard says that he had seen them a week ago so Doreen assumed it would be the same duo that arrived last week.
