** John Filliter shares a few photos of an adult BALD EAGLE perched on a snag, on the watch, on the Cape Brûlée Rd. on Monday.

**  While at the Magnetic Hill Zoo on another mission on Tuesday it was very special to get to see the colony of 15 BARN owls there. (Yes that is BARN owl not barred.) They started off with four owls some years ago and through a breeding program of careful selection of unrelated individuals, have ironed out the methods that lead to successful captive rearing and have been able to supply other zoos without any being removed from the wild. These owls were not on public display last season as an appropriate area was not available, however an area is under construction and they will be on display at the zoo in June with the exception of breeding pairs.

These are colony birds and seemed very content. A zoom lens was able to capture photos without disturbing the birds and several are attached. It's hard to get enough of this unique owl!

Kathleen Spicer in Apple river, NS reports the Fieldfare is very much still a regular patron still enjoying its private apple cache. Kathleen shares a recent photo.
