** Bob Childs reports that things are nicely active at his Riverview feeder
area. The ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER [Paruline verdâtre] continues to be a regular
patron and a male RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER [Pic à ventre roux] has arrived that is
coming on a regular basis to suet. Bob comments that the expected regulars
including BLUE JAYS [Geai bleu], both HAIRY WOODPECKERS [Pic chevelu] and DOWNY
WOODPECKERS [Pic mineur], BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEES [Mésange à tête noire],
AMERICAN GOLDFINCHES [Chardonneret jaune] and lots of MOURNING DOVES
[Tourterelle triste] are also present.
** Georges Brun spotted a COYOTE [Coyote] approximately 100 metres down
river of Chateau Moncton on the Riverview side of the river on Thursday. It
appears very light in colour; however, coyote pelage is quite variable.
** Nice to hear of EVENING GROSBEAKS [Gros-bec errant] to an urban feeder.
Brian Stone had a group of 15 arrive to a crab-apple tree that has been being
used by AMERICAN ROBINS [Merle d'Amérique],CEDAR WAXWINGS, and BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS
[Jaseur boreal]. It appeared the Grosbeaks were after the seeds as he felt he
saw the bodies of the apples fall to the ground.
