Barb Curlew reports the had their first Ruby-throated
Hummingbird, a male as expected, drop by their nectar feeder at Waterside,
Albert Co. on Monday morning. The weather must have made finding their feeder a
welcome sight.
** Brian Stone visited the tidal bore as it came up the Petitcodiac River
on Sunday. Two surfers braved the cold water to ride it in. Brian got several
photos of the action. While there, he photographed various gulls, a COMMON RAVEN
[Grand Corbeau] and a SONG SPARROW [Bruant chanteur].
** Gordon Rattray came across a group of TROUT-LILY [Ail doux] plants in
full bloom by a brook near his Albert Mines Road home on Sunday and got a nice
photo. Gordon reports that the EASTERN MEADOWLARK [Sturnelle des prés] was not
seen in Baltimore on Sunday. He will continue to check if it returns and report.
** Anna Tucker visited the Sackville Waterfowl Park on Saturday. Among
several species noted included a PIED-BILLED GREBE [Grèbe à bec bigarré] and a
male YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER [Paruline à croupion jaune].
