**John Massey was rewarded a few days ago by finding a few large fruitings of oyster mushrooms on dying aspen in his Dieppe yard, which promptly hit the dinner table to be appreciated.
John also got a photo of a NORTHERN FLICKER checking the world from its nest hole by the Sevogle River on Tuesday as well as a family of raccoons that had their den in a tree cavity.

**Brian Stone caught some interesting insects photos on Tuesday. A close up of aphids feeding on a rose bush.  These insects suck juice from plants instead of eating foliage and yes, they do apparently develop wings at some stages.

Brian also got a nice closeup of a lady beetle larvae that seems to have just shed an outer skin as it grows and also a nice closeup of a mayfly on its short mating flight period.
