Whatley shares a few Mushroom [Champignon] photos. Mushroom photos can be hard
to identify with certainty, but the one attached today I’m fairly sure is the
FLY AGARIC (Amanita
muscaria)[Amanite
tue-mouches], which is a very common one fruiting at the moment in large
numbers. It is not an edible mushroom as it contains muscarine.
**Aldo
Dorio got a photo of a CLOUDED SULPHUR Butterfly [Coliade du trèfle] nectaring
on what appears to be FALL DANDELION [Leontodon d'automne]. Aldo also got a
photo of a MERLIN [Faucon émerillon]. The Merlin shows the white line on the
head that Gilles Belliveau points out is a typical Merlin feature, but the
facial disk is very faint in this photo, possibly due to the way its head is
aimed in the photo.
**Jamie
Burris got a nice photo of a BLUE-HEADED VIREO [Viréo à tête bleue] on Friday in
the marsh area while showing his mother Cynthia the area. Note the eye-ring and
the spectacle characteristic of this species and the heavy Vireo bill. Jamie
also photographed a pair of CLOUDED SULPHUR Butterflies [Coliade du trèfle] with
one the expected yellow colour and the other showing a lot of white with some
small black slashes on the wing and small heart-shaped yellow markings on the
lower wing.
