Carmella Melanson had a YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRD [Carouge à tote jaune] arrive to her Grand Barachois yard on
Saturday morning. It stayed for about 10 minutes and left, but arrived for a
return visit in late afternoon. It came alone in the morning, but in the
afternoon there was a flock of EUROPEAN
STARLINGS [Étourneau sansonnet] next-door, so it may have been travelling
with them, which this species often does when it shows up in New Brunswick.
Carmella got a nice photo of her guest.
** A special owl sighting by Danny Sullivan on Friday. He
spotted a NORTHERN
SAW-WHET OWL [Petite nyctale] at 3:30 pm in a Spruce tree just north of
his home on the Communication Rd, which is off the Irishtown Rd. He was
fortunate to get some nice pictures of this leprechaun of an owl. Danny also
shares some photos of a RED-NECKED
GREBE [Grèbe jougris] that he got in the Irishtown Nature Park Reservoir
on October 14th. Nice to have photos coming in from the Irishtown Nature
Park.
