** Brittany Crossman shares a few of her excellent mammal photos of the last few days, including a RED FOX [Renard roux] on P.E.I., a WHITE-TAILED DEER [Cerf de Virginie] in Alma, and a MUSKRAT [Rat musqué] on the Tantramar Marsh. Note the clear view of the vertically orientated tail of the Muskrat that it so effectively uses as a rudder.

** It's that special time window of the year when being in the right place at the right time one can hear the pleasant song of the NORTHERN SHRIKE [Pie-grièche grise]. Clarence Cormier heard that song on Wednesday morning at his Grand Digue site, and also got a few documentary photos of the bard.

** Andrea Buckingham got a photo of a female NORTHERN CARDINAL [Cardinal rouge] in her Lower Coverdale yard on Wednesday afternoon. This bird may or may not be one that has been seen in Lower Coverdale over the winter. Jack Poirier reported one in that area earlier in the winter.

** Brian Stone has a real eye and ability to photograph ice formations that recent weather conditions have been so good for. Brian shares a few he took at Hall's Creek recently.
